Want to try an f/0.95 lens for once?

Brightin Star 50 mm f/0.95 (APS-C) · ein 35 mm f/0.95 ist angekündigt

A lens that opens at f/0.95 is not something most people own, and there is nowhere to try one. Here there is: it sits ready on a Sony body, you shoot with it whatever camera you brought, and the RAWs are yours.

Two days with Ophelia Gano

Two days working through the full range: portrait, lingerie, and artistic nude up to full body. Usually six setups per day, each one prepared, each one with real time at the set.

Ophelia has been modelling professionally for years, and it shows in how still she is. She holds a pose until the light is right, instead of moving constantly and hoping a frame lands. For a workshop that is the difference between trying things and learning something: you can move a lamp, meter again, change the angle — and the subject is still there.

November light

By late November the daylight is gone early. Rather than treat that as a drawback, we work through it: mornings take what the window still gives, afternoons build the light from scratch. Book both days and you see the same body twice under two completely different conditions — which teaches more about light than six setups in one mood.

Getting there

The studio is in Oberstenfeld, Germany — 25 minutes from Stuttgart, 20 from Heilbronn, with parking at the door. Stuttgart Airport is about an hour away, and the ICE stops in Stuttgart. Several participants each year travel in from abroad.

Language

The workshop is run in German, but Patrick speaks English and every setup is shown as well as explained — lamp positions, modifiers, aperture. Photographers from outside Germany have taken part before and had no trouble following along.

How a day runs

  1. 09:30

    Arrival, briefing, first setup

A short round: what we want to get today, who is working on what. Then the first light goes up.

  2. 10:00 – 12:00

    Portrait and lingerie

Two or three setups from tight portrait to lingerie. Everyone comes to the set on their own; light and pose are corrected as you go.

  3. 12:00 – 12:30

    Break

Drinks, snacks, and a look at the frames on screen.

  4. 12:30 – 14:30

    Nude

The nude part of the day — from implied to artistic full nude, directed and paced.

Cannot be there? · Livestream

Sunday 22 November · 15:30–17:30 (Berlin)

Cannot make it in person? On the Sunday we stream the shoot with Ophelia and Patrick — an education stream with everything announced and explained, for anyone who wants to learn without standing in the studio.

An education stream, not pornography: every lighting setup is announced and explained — lamp positions, modifiers, aperture, and why a mood looks the way it does. Questions go through the chat and get answered on air.

Portrait, lingerie and at most one nude setup are shown — and none in which the crotch would be visible. Access is restricted to adults.

Why this workshop

The full range in two days

Portrait, lingerie, nude. Ophelia's agreed scope covers every level, so you do not have to commit to one genre.

Stillness in front of the camera

Years of professional work, and it shows: she holds a pose until the light sits. You can correct in peace instead of rushing.

One at the set

Five photographers a day, never at the same time. You work with Ophelia, not against four cameras.

New workshop dates go out there first, before the website.

FAQ

Common questions

What is photographed? +
Portrait, lingerie and artistic nude up to full body. What happens in each setup is agreed in advance and announced — Ophelia decides how far it goes, and that applies to everyone equally. Not included: anything erotic, BDSM, or POV frames.
Do I need experience with nude photography? +
No. Every setup is announced, light and pose are corrected as you go, and Patrick steps in when something is off.
Can I book a single day? +
Yes. Saturday and Sunday are booked separately and run the same programme. There is also exactly one one-to-one coaching slot on the Saturday.
How far is the studio from Stuttgart? +
About 25 minutes by car. Oberstenfeld sits between Heilbronn, Stuttgart and Ludwigsburg, with parking directly outside.
What may I do with the images? +
Your own frames, portfolio and private use permitted. Commercial use is not part of the agreement. For nude frames one further limit applies: online yes, print no — no books, magazines or other printed matter.
Is the studio warm enough in November? +
Yes, the studio is heated throughout. And in nude work the model sets the pace anyway — we work in blocks with breaks in between, not continuously.
