Brightin Star 50 mm f/0.95 (APS-C) · ein 35 mm f/0.95 ist angekündigt

A lens that opens at f/0.95 is not something most people own, and there is nowhere to try one. Here there is: it sits ready on a Sony body, you shoot with it whatever camera you brought, and the RAWs are yours.

Ophelia — fine art in water

Water is the hardest surface in the studio. It reflects when you want it to draw, it goes flat when you light it wrong, and it moves. The Ophelia setup — a pool in the studio, blossoms on the surface, soft light from above — is the one people book this weekend for, and the one that teaches the most.

You will see exactly where the lamps stand so that the surface draws instead of mirroring, and what happens when one moves half a metre. Around it: portrait, lingerie and artistic nude, six setups across five hours.

The model — Mathilde Dottir

Mathilde Dottir is a full-time art model of Danish-Icelandic descent who works internationally. Her own phrase for it is “nude is fashion” — she treats the body as form and light, never as effect. Photographers describe her as calm, precise and entirely in control, equally strong in a plain portrait and in a fine-art nude. She founded her own agency, Crude, and brings the same clarity to every set.

Getting there

The studio is in Oberstenfeld, Germany — 25 minutes from Stuttgart, 20 from Heilbronn, with parking at the door. Stuttgart Airport is about an hour away, and the ICE stops in Stuttgart. Several participants each year travel in from abroad.

Language

The workshop is run in German, but Patrick speaks English and every setup is shown as well as explained — lamp positions, modifiers, aperture. Photographers from outside Germany have taken part before and had no trouble following along.

How a day runs

  1. 09:30

    Arrival and briefing

Welcome, a walk through the 300 m² studio and its lights, the plan for the day — then straight into the first set.

  2. from 10:00

    Six setups, step by step

Portrait through lingerie to nude. One person shoots at a time, so you get real time at the set. Patrick directs light and posing where you need it.

  3. 14:30

    End

Five intense hours, six finished looks — and an understanding of how each one was built.

Cannot be there? · Livestream

Sunday 27 September · 15:30–17:30 (Berlin)

Cannot make it in person? On the Sunday we stream the shoot with Mathilde and Patrick — an education stream with everything announced and explained, for anyone who wants to learn without standing in the studio.

An education stream, not adult content: every lighting setup is announced and explained — lamp positions, modifiers, aperture, and why a mood looks the way it does. Questions go through the chat and get answered on air.

FAQ

Common questions

How many photographers take part? +

What is photographed? +
Portrait, lingerie and artistic nude. What happens in each setup is agreed in advance; Mathilde decides how far it goes.
Can I book a single day? +
Yes. Saturday and Sunday are booked separately and run the same programme. There is also one one-to-one coaching slot with Patrick on the Saturday.
Do I need experience with nude photography? +
No. Every setup is announced, light and pose are corrected as you go. Beginners and experienced photographers both work here.
May I publish the images? +
Yes, for your portfolio and private use. Commercial use requires a separate agreement. Mathilde's stage name only, never her real name, and no adult platforms.
